# S-9 “Sand Leviathan” — Robotic Sandworm Blueprint

This is an engineering blueprint for a giant desert sandworm rebuilt as a robotic subterranean ore harvester. Everything is in one self-contained `index.html`: inline CSS, inline JS, SVG only, and no external assets, libraries or fonts. Open it in any modern browser.

## Sheet contents

| Panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **View A: side elevation (animated)** | The 20-segment worm burrows, climbs, breaches the dunes and dives again. Every segment follows the head along one bore path. A contraction wave runs from head to tail: grip shoes extend and the rings bunch and stretch. The jaws open as the head nears grade and sand sprays wherever the body breaks the surface. Anything below grade is drawn as dashed hidden lines. The sensor ring sends out sonar pings, and ore pods light up when a ping reaches them. A live dimension line shows the head's depth. A HUD reports mode, depth, pitch and jaw aperture. |
| **View B: exploded breakdown** | Parts 01–07: head and mouth, sensor ring, steering neck, drive segments ×13, power core, processing and ore hold, tail. Each has a numbered callout, and there are dimension lines for overall length, diameters, pitch and head length. A matching part card below each gives its function and specs. Hovering or tapping a part highlights both the drawing and its card. |
| **Detail C: mouth** | **C1:** a front view into the mouth, showing the rotating crusher crown, the fixed concave liner, the gyrating mantle and the spinning intake auger. **Section C–C:** a hatched longitudinal cut. Rock particles flow through jaws → crown → gyratory cone → twin rolls → 8 mm screen → auger, shrinking at each stage. A numbered key is shared by both views. |
| **Sheet D: terrain & ops** | A plan map with dune contours, barchans, a mesa, an ore basin and three working zones: A harvest, B survey, and C no-bore. It also shows a closed harvest loop from Relay Base 01, with waypoints, direction chevrons and surfacing points S1–S3. A live S-9 marker travels the loop, and a live-ops readout sits beside the map. Profile D1 plots depth along the route and is synced to the marker. You can hover or touch it to probe any point, which also highlights that spot on the map. |
| **Title block** | Organisation, project, title, drawing number, revision table and general notes. |

## Controls
- **Pause / Play**, **Speed** (×1, ×2, ×½) and **Hidden lines** (show or hide the worm below grade).
- Animation only runs for panels that are on screen. If the system asks for reduced motion, the page starts paused.

## Responsive behaviour
- The live elevation resizes its drawing to fit the screen, and its text stays a constant size on screen. On phones it switches to a squarer frame with shorter labels.
- The grids collapse to one column on narrow screens.
- The two wide technical drawings, the exploded view and Section C–C, keep a readable scale and can be panned sideways on phones. A “swipe to pan” hint is shown there, and the part cards and key repeat the information as text.
- Tested in headless Chromium at 1440×900 and 390×844, with no console errors and no page-level horizontal overflow.
